I don’t know why I’m posting this. I just thought maybe you guys would be interested in the inner workings of my bird obsession.
It really is a short list. At some point in my life, I want to have owned at least one of the following:
This is definitely a list for the future. I doubt it will be any less than ten years before I have the money, facilities, and time for any of these. I can dream, though (:

After almost two weeks of trying to schedule a day for a home visit with the parrot rescue, we’re finally bringing Kiwi (a green Pacific Parrotlet) home! Well actually, someone from the rescue is bringing him home for us, but either way, he’ll be home with us tomorrow.
Soooo excited to start working with Kiwi. I know it’s going to take some time, since he’s been really shy even at the rescue, but I know he’ll come around. Wish us luck! (:

Hey, remember that parrotlet that I mentioned last week? Kiwi? Jeanne at the parrot rescue I volunteer at just got this little cutie a few weeks ago, and I finally got around to volunteering this weekend so I got to see him. I FELL IN LOVE GUYS. I’M IN LOVE. He was a little scared to come out of his cage, but once he was out and I held him in my hand for a little bit, he was a whole new bird. As soon as I took my hand off of the top of him, he climbed all the way to my shoulder and wouldn’t move. I walked all around the house with him perfectly contented on my shoulder. Jeanne said she hasn’t had that kind of luck with him, and apparently he’s going up for adoption soon, so if I can run it by my dad and get him to give in, I could be first on the list! (:
